Testnet Radar is a static site. There are no accounts, no login, no database, and no profile of you anywhere in it. The only personal data the site ever receives on purpose is an email address, and only if you type one into the newsletter form.
This page describes what actually happens, not what a template says usually happens. If you find a discrepancy between this page and the site's behaviour, the page is the bug — tell us and we will fix it.
Who runs this site
Testnet Radar (testnetradar.com) is run by Henrik, its sole operator, based in the EU (Sweden). For anything on this page, including a request to delete your data: hello@testnetradar.com. Full legal contact details are available on request through that address.
What is collected when you just read
Analytics. The site loads Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID
G-MXG3DVMJH4). Where it is active it records the usual page-level things: the
pages you open, the referrer that brought you, an approximate location derived
from your IP address and then discarded, and coarse device and browser
information. It does not receive your name or your email address, and we do not
send it anything that identifies you.
Google Consent Mode is set to denied by default in the EEA, the UK, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland. For readers in those countries that means analytics storage, advertising storage, ad user data and ad personalisation are all switched off before Google Analytics loads: no analytics cookies are written and no identifiers are stored on your device. Google receives only cookieless, aggregated signals from those visits. This is why the site shows no cookie banner — in those regions there is nothing stored on your device to ask you about.
Outside those countries Google Analytics behaves normally and sets its usual
first-party analytics cookies (_ga and _ga_...), which distinguish one
browser from another so that repeat visits are not counted as new readers.
Affiliate link clicks. When you click a link to a hosting provider or a
retailer, the site sends Google Analytics an event recording which link was
clicked — its internal id, such as vultr-referral, and whether it was an
inline link or a button. Nothing about you is attached to it. The provider you
land on then applies its own referral tracking under its own privacy policy.
Hosting. The site is served by Vercel. Like every web host, Vercel processes the requests needed to deliver a page — your IP address, the URL, your browser's user agent — and keeps short-lived operational and security logs. We do not use those logs to build any picture of individual readers.
No advertising. The site carries no ad units, no ad networks, no retargeting pixels and no social tracking scripts. There is nothing here to sell your attention to.
What is collected when you subscribe
If you submit the newsletter form, we receive your email address and nothing else. There is no name field, no preferences, no tracking of what you open.
That address is stored with Resend, our email provider, as a contact in a mailing segment. It is used to send you notice of new testnets and new guides, and for nothing else. It is never sold, rented, or shared with a hosting provider, an advertiser, or anyone else.
Every email carries an unsubscribe link. Using it stops the mail immediately; your address stays on record only as an opted-out entry, which is what prevents a later signup form from quietly resubscribing you.
To have the address deleted outright rather than marked unsubscribed, email hello@testnetradar.com and it will be removed.
Abuse protection. The subscribe endpoint counts recent submissions per IP address to stop automated flooding. That counter lives in the memory of the server process for a few minutes and is never written to a database, a log, or a file.
Cookies
The site sets no cookies of its own. It has no login, no session and no preference storage, so there is nothing for it to remember about you.
The only cookies that can be set are Google Analytics' own first-party analytics cookies, and only for readers outside the regions listed above, where consent mode denies them by default. There are no advertising cookies, and no third-party cookies.
The third parties involved
Three, and this is the whole list:
- Vercel — hosting and delivery. Processes request data as described above.
- Google Analytics — audience measurement, restricted by consent mode as described above.
- Resend — delivery and storage of the newsletter list, if you subscribe.
Each publishes its own privacy policy covering what it does with the data it receives.
Your rights
If you are in the EEA or the UK, you have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to object to its processing, and to complain to your data protection authority (in Sweden, IMY).
In practice, for almost every reader, the honest answer to "what do you hold about me" is nothing — there is no account and no record unless you subscribed to the newsletter, in which case it is one email address and we will delete it on request. Write to hello@testnetradar.com.
Children
Nothing on this site is directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16.
Changes to this page
Changes are made in the site's public git history rather than silently, and the date at the top of this page is updated when the words change. If the site's data handling changes materially — a consent banner, a new provider, a new kind of data — that change lands on this page in the same commit.
